# Nakafa Framework: LLM URL: https://nakafa.com/en/quran/20 Al-Quran - Surah Taa-Haa (Taa-Haa) --- ## Taa-Haa **Translation:** Taa-Haa **Revelation:** Meccan **Number of Verses:** 135 ### Pre-Bismillah بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ *In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.* ### Verses #### Verse 1 طه **Transliteration:** Taa-Haa **Translation:** Ta, Ha. #### Verse 2 مَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Maaa anzalnaa 'alaikal Qur-aana litashqaaa **Translation:** We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distressed #### Verse 3 إِلَّا تَذْكِرَةً لِّمَن يَخْشَىٰ **Transliteration:** Illaa tazkiratal limany yakshaa **Translation:** But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - #### Verse 4 تَنزِيلًا مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ الْأَرْضَ وَالسَّمَاوَاتِ الْعُلَى **Transliteration:** Tanzeelam mimman khalaqal arda was samaawaatil 'ulaa **Translation:** A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, #### Verse 5 الرَّحْمَٰنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Ar-Rahmaanu 'alal 'Arshis tawaa **Translation:** The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. #### Verse 6 لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَا تَحْتَ الثَّرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Lahoo maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi wa maa bainahumaa wa maa tahtassaraa **Translation:** To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth and what is between them and what is under the soil. #### Verse 7 وَإِن تَجْهَرْ بِالْقَوْلِ فَإِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ السِّرَّ وَأَخْفَى **Transliteration:** Wa in tajhar bilqawli fainnahoo ya'lamus sirra wa akhfaa **Translation:** And if you speak aloud - then indeed, He knows the secret and what is [even] more hidden. #### Verse 8 اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۖ لَهُ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَىٰ **Transliteration:** Allaahu laaa ilasha illaa Huwa lahul Asmaaa'ul Husnaa **Translation:** Allah - there is no deity except Him. To Him belong the best names. #### Verse 9 وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa hal ataaka hadeesu Moosa **Translation:** And has the story of Moses reached you? - #### Verse 10 إِذْ رَأَىٰ نَارًا فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ امْكُثُوا إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّي آتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِقَبَسٍ أَوْ أَجِدُ عَلَى النَّارِ هُدًى **Transliteration:** Iz ra aa naaran faqaala li alhlihim kusooo inneee aanastu naaral la'alleee aateekum minhaa biqabasin aw ajidu 'alan naari hudaa **Translation:** When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." #### Verse 11 فَلَمَّا أَتَاهَا نُودِيَ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Falammaaa ataahaa noodiya yaa Moosaa **Translation:** And when he came to it, he was called, "O Moses, #### Verse 12 إِنِّي أَنَا رَبُّكَ فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ ۖ إِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى **Transliteration:** Inneee Ana Rabbuka fakhla' na'laika innaka bilwaadil muqaddasi Tuwaa **Translation:** Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. #### Verse 13 وَأَنَا اخْتَرْتُكَ فَاسْتَمِعْ لِمَا يُوحَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa anakhtartuka fastami' limaa yoohaa **Translation:** And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. #### Verse 14 إِنَّنِي أَنَا اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدْنِي وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي **Transliteration:** Innaneee Anal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Ana fa'budnee wa aqimis-salaata lizikree **Translation:** Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me and establish prayer for My remembrance. #### Verse 15 إِنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ أَكَادُ أُخْفِيهَا لِتُجْزَىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ بِمَا تَسْعَىٰ **Transliteration:** Innas Saa'ata aatiyatun akaadu ukhfeehaa litujzaa kullu nafsim bimaa tas'aa **Translation:** Indeed, the Hour is coming - I almost conceal it - so that every soul may be recompensed according to that for which it strives. #### Verse 16 فَلَا يَصُدَّنَّكَ عَنْهَا مَن لَّا يُؤْمِنُ بِهَا وَاتَّبَعَ هَوَاهُ فَتَرْدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Falaa yasuddannnaka 'anhaa mal laa yu'minu bihaa wattaba'a hawaahu fatardaa **Translation:** So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. #### Verse 17 وَمَا تِلْكَ بِيَمِينِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa maa tilka bi yamee nika yaa Moosaa **Translation:** And what is that in your right hand, O Moses?" #### Verse 18 قَالَ هِيَ عَصَايَ أَتَوَكَّأُ عَلَيْهَا وَأَهُشُّ بِهَا عَلَىٰ غَنَمِي وَلِيَ فِيهَا مَآرِبُ أُخْرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala hiya 'asaaya atawakka'u alaihaa wa ahushshu bihaa 'alaa ghanamee wa liya feehaa ma aaribu ukhraa **Translation:** He said, "It is my staff; I lean upon it, and I bring down leaves for my sheep and I have therein other uses." #### Verse 19 قَالَ أَلْقِهَا يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala alqihaa yaa Moosaa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." #### Verse 20 فَأَلْقَاهَا فَإِذَا هِيَ حَيَّةٌ تَسْعَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa-alqaahaa fa -izaa hiya haiyatun tas'aa **Translation:** So he threw it down, and thereupon it was a snake, moving swiftly. #### Verse 21 قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا الْأُولَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala khuzhaa wa laa ta khaf sanu'eeduhaa seeratahal oolaa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition. #### Verse 22 وَاضْمُمْ يَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَاءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوءٍ آيَةً أُخْرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wadmum yadaka ilaa janaahika takhruj baidaaa'a min ghairi sooo'in Aayatan ukhraa **Translation:** And draw in your hand to your side; it will come out white without disease - another sign, #### Verse 23 لِنُرِيَكَ مِنْ آيَاتِنَا الْكُبْرَى **Transliteration:** Linuriyaka min Aayaatinal Kubra **Translation:** That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. #### Verse 24 اذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ **Transliteration:** Izhab ilaa Fir'awna innahoo taghaa **Translation:** Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed." #### Verse 25 قَالَ رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي **Transliteration:** Qaala Rabbish rah lee sadree **Translation:** [Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] #### Verse 26 وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي **Transliteration:** Wa yassir leee amree **Translation:** And ease for me my task #### Verse 27 وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي **Transliteration:** Wahlul 'uqdatam milli saanee **Translation:** And untie the knot from my tongue #### Verse 28 يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي **Transliteration:** Yafqahoo qawlee **Translation:** That they may understand my speech. #### Verse 29 وَاجْعَل لِّي وَزِيرًا مِّنْ أَهْلِي **Transliteration:** Waj'al lee wazeeram min ahlee **Translation:** And appoint for me a minister from my family - #### Verse 30 هَارُونَ أَخِي **Transliteration:** Haaroona akhee **Translation:** Aaron, my brother. #### Verse 31 اشْدُدْ بِهِ أَزْرِي **Transliteration:** Ushdud biheee azree **Translation:** Increase through him my strength #### Verse 32 وَأَشْرِكْهُ فِي أَمْرِي **Transliteration:** Wa ashrik hu feee amree **Translation:** And let him share my task #### Verse 33 كَيْ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرًا **Transliteration:** Kai nusabbihaka kaseeraa **Translation:** That we may exalt You much #### Verse 34 وَنَذْكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا **Transliteration:** Wa nazkuraka kaseeraa **Translation:** And remember You much. #### Verse 35 إِنَّكَ كُنتَ بِنَا بَصِيرًا **Transliteration:** Innaka kunta binaa baseeraa **Translation:** Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." #### Verse 36 قَالَ قَدْ أُوتِيتَ سُؤْلَكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala qad ooteeta su'laka yaa Moosaa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "You have been granted your request, O Moses. #### Verse 37 وَلَقَدْ مَنَنَّا عَلَيْكَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa laqad manannaa 'alaika marratan ukhraaa **Translation:** And We had already conferred favor upon you another time, #### Verse 38 إِذْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمِّكَ مَا يُوحَىٰ **Transliteration:** Iz awhainaaa ilaaa ummika maa yoohaaa **Translation:** When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, #### Verse 39 أَنِ اقْذِفِيهِ فِي التَّابُوتِ فَاقْذِفِيهِ فِي الْيَمِّ فَلْيُلْقِهِ الْيَمُّ بِالسَّاحِلِ يَأْخُذْهُ عَدُوٌّ لِّي وَعَدُوٌّ لَّهُ ۚ وَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْكَ مَحَبَّةً مِّنِّي وَلِتُصْنَعَ عَلَىٰ عَيْنِي **Transliteration:** Aniqzifeehi fit Taabooti faqzifeehi fil yammi fal yul qihil yammu bis saahili yaakhuzhu 'aduwwul lee wa 'aduwwul lah; wa alqaitu 'alaika mahabbatam minnee wa litusna'a 'alaa 'ainee **Translation:** [Saying], 'Cast him into the chest and cast it into the river, and the river will throw it onto the bank; there will take him an enemy to Me and an enemy to him.' And I bestowed upon you love from Me that you would be brought up under My eye. #### Verse 40 إِذْ تَمْشِي أُخْتُكَ فَتَقُولُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن يَكْفُلُهُ ۖ فَرَجَعْنَاكَ إِلَىٰ أُمِّكَ كَيْ تَقَرَّ عَيْنُهَا وَلَا تَحْزَنَ ۚ وَقَتَلْتَ نَفْسًا فَنَجَّيْنَاكَ مِنَ الْغَمِّ وَفَتَنَّاكَ فُتُونًا ۚ فَلَبِثْتَ سِنِينَ فِي أَهْلِ مَدْيَنَ ثُمَّ جِئْتَ عَلَىٰ قَدَرٍ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Iz tamsheee ukhtuka fataqoolu hal adullukum 'alaa mai yakfuluhoo faraja 'naaka ilaaa ummika kai taqarra 'ainuhaa wa laa tahzan; wa qatalta nafsan fanajjainaaka minal ghammi wa fatannaaka futoonaa; falabista sineena feee ahli Madyana summa ji'ta 'alaa qadariny yaa Moosa **Translation:** [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. #### Verse 41 وَاصْطَنَعْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي **Transliteration:** Wastana' tuka linafsee **Translation:** And I produced you for Myself. #### Verse 42 اذْهَبْ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِآيَاتِي وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكْرِي **Transliteration:** Izhab anta wa akhooka bi Aayaatee wa laa taniyaa fee zikree **Translation:** Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance. #### Verse 43 اذْهَبَا إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُ طَغَىٰ **Transliteration:** Izhabaaa ilaa Fir'awna innahoo taghaa **Translation:** Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. #### Verse 44 فَقُولَا لَهُ قَوْلًا لَّيِّنًا لَّعَلَّهُ يَتَذَكَّرُ أَوْ يَخْشَىٰ **Transliteration:** Faqoolaa lahoo qawlal laiyinal la allahoo yatazakkkaru 'aw yakhshaa **Translation:** And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." #### Verse 45 قَالَا رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا نَخَافُ أَن يَفْرُطَ عَلَيْنَا أَوْ أَن يَطْغَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaalaa Rabbanaaa innanaa nakhaafu ai yafruta 'alainaaa aw ai yatghaa **Translation:** They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." #### Verse 46 قَالَ لَا تَخَافَا ۖ إِنَّنِي مَعَكُمَا أَسْمَعُ وَأَرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala laa takhaafaaa innanee ma'akumaa asma'u wa araa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "Fear not. Indeed, I am with you both; I hear and I see. #### Verse 47 فَأْتِيَاهُ فَقُولَا إِنَّا رَسُولَا رَبِّكَ فَأَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَا تُعَذِّبْهُمْ ۖ قَدْ جِئْنَاكَ بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكَ ۖ وَالسَّلَامُ عَلَىٰ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الْهُدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Faatiyaahu faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolaa Rabbika fa arsil ma'anaa Banee Israaa'eela wa laa tu'azzibhum qad ji'naaka bi Aayatim mir Rabbika wassa laamu 'alaa manit taba'al hudaa **Translation:** So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance. #### Verse 48 إِنَّا قَدْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيْنَا أَنَّ الْعَذَابَ عَلَىٰ مَن كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ **Transliteration:** Innaa qad oohiya ilainaaa annnal 'azaaba 'alaa man kaz zaba wa tawalla **Translation:** Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " #### Verse 49 قَالَ فَمَن رَّبُّكُمَا يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala famar Rabbu kumaa yaa Moosa **Translation:** [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" #### Verse 50 قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَىٰ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala Rabbunal lazeee a'taa kulla shai'in khalqahoo summa hadaa **Translation:** He said, "Our Lord is He who gave each thing its form and then guided [it]." #### Verse 51 قَالَ فَمَا بَالُ الْقُرُونِ الْأُولَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala famaa baalul quroonil oolaa **Translation:** [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" #### Verse 52 قَالَ عِلْمُهَا عِندَ رَبِّي فِي كِتَابٍ ۖ لَّا يَضِلُّ رَبِّي وَلَا يَنسَى **Transliteration:** Qaala 'ilmuhaa 'inda Rabee fee kitaab, laa yadillu Rabbee wa laa yansaa **Translation:** [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." #### Verse 53 الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الْأَرْضَ مَهْدًا وَسَلَكَ لَكُمْ فِيهَا سُبُلًا وَأَنزَلَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَأَخْرَجْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّن نَّبَاتٍ شَتَّىٰ **Transliteration:** Allazee ja'ala lakumul arda mahdanw wa salaka lakum feehaa subulanw wa anzala minas samaaa'i maaa'an fa akhrajnaa biheee azwaajam min nabaatin shatta **Translation:** [It is He] who has made for you the earth as a bed [spread out] and inserted therein for you roadways and sent down from the sky, rain and produced thereby categories of various plants. #### Verse 54 كُلُوا وَارْعَوْا أَنْعَامَكُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي النُّهَىٰ **Transliteration:** Kuloo war'aw an'aamakum; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil li ulin nuhaa **Translation:** Eat [therefrom] and pasture your livestock. Indeed, in that are signs for those of intelligence. #### Verse 55 ۞ مِنْهَا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ وَفِيهَا نُعِيدُكُمْ وَمِنْهَا نُخْرِجُكُمْ تَارَةً أُخْرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Minhaa khalaqnaakum wa feehaa nu'eedukum wa minhaa nukhrijukum taaratan ukhraa **Translation:** From the earth We created you, and into it We will return you, and from it We will extract you another time. #### Verse 56 وَلَقَدْ أَرَيْنَاهُ آيَاتِنَا كُلَّهَا فَكَذَّبَ وَأَبَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa laqad arainaahu Aayaatinaa kullahaa fakaz zaba wa abaa **Translation:** And We certainly showed Pharaoh Our signs - all of them - but he denied and refused. #### Verse 57 قَالَ أَجِئْتَنَا لِتُخْرِجَنَا مِنْ أَرْضِنَا بِسِحْرِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala aji'tanaa litukhri janaa min ardinaa bisihrika yaa Moosa **Translation:** He said, "Have you come to us to drive us out of our land with your magic, O Moses? #### Verse 58 فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّكَ بِسِحْرٍ مِّثْلِهِ فَاجْعَلْ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّا نُخْلِفُهُ نَحْنُ وَلَا أَنتَ مَكَانًا سُوًى **Transliteration:** Falanaatiyannaka bisihrim mislihee faj'al bainanaa wa bainaka maw'idal laa nukhlifuhoo nahnu wa laaa anta makaanan suwaa **Translation:** Then we will surely bring you magic like it, so make between us and you an appointment, which we will not fail to keep and neither will you, in a place assigned." #### Verse 59 قَالَ مَوْعِدُكُمْ يَوْمُ الزِّينَةِ وَأَن يُحْشَرَ النَّاسُ ضُحًى **Transliteration:** Qaala maw'idukum yawmuz zeenati wa ai yuhsharan naasu duhaa **Translation:** [Moses] said, "Your appointment is on the day of the festival when the people assemble at mid-morning." #### Verse 60 فَتَوَلَّىٰ فِرْعَوْنُ فَجَمَعَ كَيْدَهُ ثُمَّ أَتَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fatawallaa Fir'awnu fajjama'a kaidahoo summa ataa **Translation:** So Pharaoh went away, put together his plan, and then came [to Moses]. #### Verse 61 قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰ وَيْلَكُمْ لَا تَفْتَرُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا فَيُسْحِتَكُم بِعَذَابٍ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنِ افْتَرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala lahum Moosaa wailakum laa taftaroo 'alal laahi kaziban fa yus hitakum bi 'azaab, wa qad khaaba manif taraa **Translation:** Moses said to the magicians summoned by Pharaoh, "Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allah or He will exterminate you with a punishment; and he has failed who invents [such falsehood]." #### Verse 62 فَتَنَازَعُوا أَمْرَهُم بَيْنَهُمْ وَأَسَرُّوا النَّجْوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fatanaaza'ooo amrahum bainahum wa asarrun najwaa **Translation:** So they disputed over their affair among themselves and concealed their private conversation. #### Verse 63 قَالُوا إِنْ هَٰذَانِ لَسَاحِرَانِ يُرِيدَانِ أَن يُخْرِجَاكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِمَا وَيَذْهَبَا بِطَرِيقَتِكُمُ الْمُثْلَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaalooo in haaazaani lasaahiraani yureedaani ai yukhrijaakum min ardikum bisihrihimaa wa yazhabaa bitareeqatikumul muslaa **Translation:** They said, "Indeed, these are two magicians who want to drive you out of your land with their magic and do away with your most exemplary way. #### Verse 64 فَأَجْمِعُوا كَيْدَكُمْ ثُمَّ ائْتُوا صَفًّا ۚ وَقَدْ أَفْلَحَ الْيَوْمَ مَنِ اسْتَعْلَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa ajmi'oo kaidakum summma'too saffaa; wa qad aflahal yawma manis ta'laa **Translation:** So resolve upon your plan and then come [forward] in line. And he has succeeded today who overcomes." #### Verse 65 قَالُوا يَا مُوسَىٰ إِمَّا أَن تُلْقِيَ وَإِمَّا أَن نَّكُونَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ أَلْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaaloo yaa Moosaaa immaaa an tulqiya wa immaaa an nakoona awala man alqaa **Translation:** They said, "O Moses, either you throw or we will be the first to throw." #### Verse 66 قَالَ بَلْ أَلْقُوا ۖ فَإِذَا حِبَالُهُمْ وَعِصِيُّهُمْ يُخَيَّلُ إِلَيْهِ مِن سِحْرِهِمْ أَنَّهَا تَسْعَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala bal alqoo fa izaa hibaaluhum wa 'isiyyuhum yuhaiyalu ilaihi min sihrihim annahaa tas'aa **Translation:** He said, "Rather, you throw." And suddenly their ropes and staffs seemed to him from their magic that they were moving [like snakes]. #### Verse 67 فَأَوْجَسَ فِي نَفْسِهِ خِيفَةً مُّوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa awjasa fee nafsihee kheefatam Moosa **Translation:** And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses. #### Verse 68 قُلْنَا لَا تَخَفْ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْأَعْلَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qulnaa laa takhaf innaka antal a'laa **Translation:** Allah said, "Fear not. Indeed, it is you who are superior. #### Verse 69 وَأَلْقِ مَا فِي يَمِينِكَ تَلْقَفْ مَا صَنَعُوا ۖ إِنَّمَا صَنَعُوا كَيْدُ سَاحِرٍ ۖ وَلَا يُفْلِحُ السَّاحِرُ حَيْثُ أَتَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa alqi maa fee yamee nika talqaf maa sana'oo; innamaa sana'oo kaidu saahir; wa laa yuflihus saahiru haisu ataa **Translation:** And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is." #### Verse 70 فَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سُجَّدًا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّ هَارُونَ وَمُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa ulqiyas saharatu sujjadan qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbi Haaroona wa Moosa **Translation:** So the magicians fell down in prostration. They said, "We have believed in the Lord of Aaron and Moses." #### Verse 71 قَالَ آمَنتُمْ لَهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ آذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ الَّذِي عَلَّمَكُمُ السِّحْرَ ۖ فَلَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَافٍ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ فِي جُذُوعِ النَّخْلِ وَلَتَعْلَمُنَّ أَيُّنَا أَشَدُّ عَذَابًا وَأَبْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala aamantum lahoo qabla an aazana lakum; innahoo lakabeerukumul lazee 'allama kumus sihra fala uqatti'anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafinw wa la usallibannakum fee juzoo'in nakhli wa lata'lamunna aiyunaaa ashaddu 'azaabanw wa abqaa **Translation:** [Pharaoh] said, "You believed him before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic. So I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you on the trunks of palm trees, and you will surely know which of us is more severe in [giving] punishment and more enduring." #### Verse 72 قَالُوا لَن نُّؤْثِرَكَ عَلَىٰ مَا جَاءَنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالَّذِي فَطَرَنَا ۖ فَاقْضِ مَا أَنتَ قَاضٍ ۖ إِنَّمَا تَقْضِي هَٰذِهِ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا **Transliteration:** Qaaloo lan nu'siraka 'alaa maa jaaa'anaa minal baiyinaati wallazee fataranaa faqdi maaa anta qaad; innamaa taqdee haazihil hayaatad dunyaa **Translation:** They said, "Never will we prefer you over what has come to us of clear proofs and [over] He who created us. So decree whatever you are to decree. You can only decree for this worldly life. #### Verse 73 إِنَّا آمَنَّا بِرَبِّنَا لِيَغْفِرَ لَنَا خَطَايَانَا وَمَا أَكْرَهْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنَ السِّحْرِ ۗ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Innaaa aamannaa bi Rabbinaa liyaghfira lanaa khataayaanaa wa maaa akrahtanaa 'alaihi minas sihr; wallaahu khairunw waabqaa **Translation:** Indeed, we have believed in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins and what you compelled us [to do] of magic. And Allah is better and more enduring." #### Verse 74 إِنَّهُ مَن يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ مُجْرِمًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ **Transliteration:** Innahoo mai yaati Rabbahoo mujriman fa inna lahoo Jahannama laa yamotu feehaa wa laa yahyaa **Translation:** Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal - indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live. #### Verse 75 وَمَن يَأْتِهِ مُؤْمِنًا قَدْ عَمِلَ الصَّالِحَاتِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ لَهُمُ الدَّرَجَاتُ الْعُلَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa mai yaatihee mu'minan qad 'amilas saalihaati fa ulaaa'ika lahumud dara jaatul 'ulaa **Translation:** But whoever comes to Him as a believer having done righteous deeds - for those will be the highest degrees [in position]: #### Verse 76 جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ وَذَٰلِكَ جَزَاءُ مَن تَزَكَّىٰ **Transliteration:** Jannaatu 'Adnin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; wa zaalika jazaaa'ua man tazakka **Translation:** Gardens of perpetual residence beneath which rivers flow, wherein they abide eternally. And that is the reward of one who purifies himself. #### Verse 77 وَلَقَدْ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي فَاضْرِبْ لَهُمْ طَرِيقًا فِي الْبَحْرِ يَبَسًا لَّا تَخَافُ دَرَكًا وَلَا تَخْشَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa laqad awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an asri bi'ibaadee fadrib lahum tareeqan fil bahri yabasal laa takhaafu darakanw wa laa takhshaa **Translation:** And We had inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning]." #### Verse 78 فَأَتْبَعَهُمْ فِرْعَوْنُ بِجُنُودِهِ فَغَشِيَهُم مِّنَ الْيَمِّ مَا غَشِيَهُمْ **Transliteration:** Fa atba'ahum Fir'awnu bijunoodihee faghashiyahum minal yammmi maa ghashi yahum **Translation:** So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that which covered them, #### Verse 79 وَأَضَلَّ فِرْعَوْنُ قَوْمَهُ وَمَا هَدَىٰ **Transliteration:** wa adalla fir'awnu qawmahoo wa maa hadaa **Translation:** And Pharaoh led his people astray and did not guide [them]. #### Verse 80 يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ قَدْ أَنجَيْنَاكُم مِّنْ عَدُوِّكُمْ وَوَاعَدْنَاكُمْ جَانِبَ الطُّورِ الْأَيْمَنَ وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكُمُ الْمَنَّ وَالسَّلْوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Yaa Baneee Israaa'eela qad anjainaakum min 'aduw wikum wa wa'adnaakum jaanibat Tooril aimana wa nazzalnaa 'alaikumul Manna was Salwaa **Translation:** O Children of Israel, We delivered you from your enemy, and We made an appointment with you at the right side of the mount, and We sent down to you manna and quails, #### Verse 81 كُلُوا مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَاكُمْ وَلَا تَطْغَوْا فِيهِ فَيَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبِي ۖ وَمَن يَحْلِلْ عَلَيْهِ غَضَبِي فَقَدْ هَوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Kuloo min taiyibaati maa razaqnaakum wa laa tatghaw feehi fa yahilla 'alaikum ghadabee wa mai yahlil 'alaihi ghadabee faqad hawaa **Translation:** [Saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen." #### Verse 82 وَإِنِّي لَغَفَّارٌ لِّمَن تَابَ وَآمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا ثُمَّ اهْتَدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa innee la Ghaffaarul liman taaba wa aamana wa 'amila saalihan summah tadaa **Translation:** But indeed, I am the Perpetual Forgiver of whoever repents and believes and does righteousness and then continues in guidance. #### Verse 83 ۞ وَمَا أَعْجَلَكَ عَن قَوْمِكَ يَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa maaa a'jalaka 'an qawmika yaa Moosa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "And what made you hasten from your people, O Moses?" #### Verse 84 قَالَ هُمْ أُولَاءِ عَلَىٰ أَثَرِي وَعَجِلْتُ إِلَيْكَ رَبِّ لِتَرْضَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala hum ulaaa'i 'alaaa asaree wa 'ajiltu ilaika Rabbi litardaa **Translation:** He said, "They are close upon my tracks, and I hastened to You, my Lord, that You be pleased." #### Verse 85 قَالَ فَإِنَّا قَدْ فَتَنَّا قَوْمَكَ مِن بَعْدِكَ وَأَضَلَّهُمُ السَّامِرِيُّ **Transliteration:** Qaala fa innaa qad fatannaa qawmaka mim ba'dika wa adallahumus Saamiriyy **Translation:** [Allah] said, "But indeed, We have tried your people after you [departed], and the Samiri has led them astray." #### Verse 86 فَرَجَعَ مُوسَىٰ إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِ غَضْبَانَ أَسِفًا ۚ قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ أَلَمْ يَعِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُمْ وَعْدًا حَسَنًا ۚ أَفَطَالَ عَلَيْكُمُ الْعَهْدُ أَمْ أَرَدتُّمْ أَن يَحِلَّ عَلَيْكُمْ غَضَبٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَأَخْلَفْتُم مَّوْعِدِي **Transliteration:** Faraja's Moosaaa ilaa qawmihee ghadbaana asifaa; qaala yaa qawmi alam ya'idkum Rabbukum wa'dan hasanaa; afataala 'alaikumul 'ahdu am arattum ai yahilla 'alaikum ghadabum mir Rabbikum fa akhlaftum maw'idee **Translation:** So Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved. He said, "O my people, did your Lord not make you a good promise? Then, was the time [of its fulfillment] too long for you, or did you wish that wrath from your Lord descend upon you, so you broke your promise [of obedience] to me?" #### Verse 87 قَالُوا مَا أَخْلَفْنَا مَوْعِدَكَ بِمَلْكِنَا وَلَٰكِنَّا حُمِّلْنَا أَوْزَارًا مِّن زِينَةِ الْقَوْمِ فَقَذَفْنَاهَا فَكَذَٰلِكَ أَلْقَى السَّامِرِيُّ **Transliteration:** Qaaloo maaa akhlafnaa maw'idaka bimalkinna wa laakinna hummilnaaa awzaaram min zeenatil qawmi faqazafnaahaa fakazaalika alqas Saamiriyy **Translation:** They said, "We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments of the people [of Pharaoh], so we threw them [into the fire], and thus did the Samiri throw." #### Verse 88 فَأَخْرَجَ لَهُمْ عِجْلًا جَسَدًا لَّهُ خُوَارٌ فَقَالُوا هَٰذَا إِلَٰهُكُمْ وَإِلَٰهُ مُوسَىٰ فَنَسِيَ **Transliteration:** Fa akhraja lahum 'ijlan jasadal lahoo khuwaarun faqaaloo haazaaa ilaahukum wa ilaahu Moosaa fanasee **Translation:** And he extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot." #### Verse 89 أَفَلَا يَرَوْنَ أَلَّا يَرْجِعُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَوْلًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُ لَهُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا **Transliteration:** Afalaa yarawna allaa yarji'u ilaihim qawlanw wa laa yamliku lahum darranw wa laa naf'aa **Translation:** Did they not see that it could not return to them any speech and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit? #### Verse 90 وَلَقَدْ قَالَ لَهُمْ هَارُونُ مِن قَبْلُ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّمَا فُتِنتُم بِهِ ۖ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ فَاتَّبِعُونِي وَأَطِيعُوا أَمْرِي **Transliteration:** Wa laqad qaala lahum Haaroonu min qablu yaa qawmi innamaa futintum bihee wa inna Rabbakumur Rahmaanu fattabi'oonee wa atee'ooo amree **Translation:** And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order." #### Verse 91 قَالُوا لَن نَّبْرَحَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفِينَ حَتَّىٰ يَرْجِعَ إِلَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaaloo lan nabraha 'alaihi 'aakifeena hattaa yarji'a ilainaa Moosaa **Translation:** They said, "We will never cease being devoted to the calf until Moses returns to us." #### Verse 92 قَالَ يَا هَارُونُ مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَهُمْ ضَلُّوا **Transliteration:** Qaala Yaa Haaroonu maa mana 'aka iz ra aitahum dallooo **Translation:** [Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray, #### Verse 93 أَلَّا تَتَّبِعَنِ ۖ أَفَعَصَيْتَ أَمْرِي **Transliteration:** Allaa tattabi'ani afa'asaita amree **Translation:** From following me? Then have you disobeyed my order?" #### Verse 94 قَالَ يَا ابْنَ أُمَّ لَا تَأْخُذْ بِلِحْيَتِي وَلَا بِرَأْسِي ۖ إِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَن تَقُولَ فَرَّقْتَ بَيْنَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ وَلَمْ تَرْقُبْ قَوْلِي **Transliteration:** Qaala yabna'umma laa taakhuz bilihyatee wa laa biraasee innee khashetu an taqoola farraqta baina Baneee Israaa'eela wa lam tarqub qawlee **Translation:** [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' " #### Verse 95 قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكَ يَا سَامِرِيُّ **Transliteration:** Qaala famaa khatbuka yaa Saamiriyy **Translation:** [Moses] said, "And what is your case, O Samiri?" #### Verse 96 قَالَ بَصُرْتُ بِمَا لَمْ يَبْصُرُوا بِهِ فَقَبَضْتُ قَبْضَةً مِّنْ أَثَرِ الرَّسُولِ فَنَبَذْتُهَا وَكَذَٰلِكَ سَوَّلَتْ لِي نَفْسِي **Transliteration:** Qaala basurtu bimaa lam yabsuroo bihee faqabadtu qabdatam min asarir Rasooli fanabaztuhaa wa kazaalika sawwalat lee nafsee **Translation:** He said, "I saw what they did not see, so I took a handful [of dust] from the track of the messenger and threw it, and thus did my soul entice me." #### Verse 97 قَالَ فَاذْهَبْ فَإِنَّ لَكَ فِي الْحَيَاةِ أَن تَقُولَ لَا مِسَاسَ ۖ وَإِنَّ لَكَ مَوْعِدًا لَّن تُخْلَفَهُ ۖ وَانظُرْ إِلَىٰ إِلَٰهِكَ الَّذِي ظَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ عَاكِفًا ۖ لَّنُحَرِّقَنَّهُ ثُمَّ لَنَنسِفَنَّهُ فِي الْيَمِّ نَسْفًا **Transliteration:** Qaala fazhab fa inna laka fil hayaati an taqoola laa misaasa wa inna laka maw'idal lan tukhlafahoo wanzur ilaaa ilaahikal lazee zalta 'alaihi 'aakifaa; lanuharriqannnahoo summa lanansifanahoo fil yammi nasfaa **Translation:** [Moses] said, "Then go. And indeed, it is [decreed] for you in [this] life to say, 'No contact.' And indeed, you have an appointment [in the Hereafter] you will not fail to keep. And look at your 'god' to which you remained devoted. We will surely burn it and blow it into the sea with a blast. #### Verse 98 إِنَّمَا إِلَٰهُكُمُ اللَّهُ الَّذِي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا **Transliteration:** Innamaaa ilaahukkumul laahul lazee laa ilaaha illaa Hoo; wasi'a kulla shai'in ilmaa **Translation:** Your god is only Allah, except for whom there is no deity. He has encompassed all things in knowledge." #### Verse 99 كَذَٰلِكَ نَقُصُّ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ أَنبَاءِ مَا قَدْ سَبَقَ ۚ وَقَدْ آتَيْنَاكَ مِن لَّدُنَّا ذِكْرًا **Transliteration:** Kazaalika naqussu 'alaika min ambaaa'i maa qad sabaq; wa qad aatainaaka mil ladunnaa Zikraa **Translation:** Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an. #### Verse 100 مَّنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ يَحْمِلُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وِزْرًا **Transliteration:** Man a'rada 'anhu, fa innahoo yahmilu Yawmal Qiyaamati wizraa **Translation:** Whoever turns away from it - then indeed, he will bear on the Day of Resurrection a burden, #### Verse 101 خَالِدِينَ فِيهِ ۖ وَسَاءَ لَهُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ حِمْلًا **Transliteration:** Khaalideena feehi wa saaa'a lahum Yawmal Qiyaamati himlaa **Translation:** [Abiding] eternally therein, and evil it is for them on the Day of Resurrection as a load - #### Verse 102 يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ وَنَحْشُرُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ زُرْقًا **Transliteration:** Yawma yunfakhu fissoori wa nahshurul mujrimeena Yawma 'izin zurqaa **Translation:** The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed. #### Verse 103 يَتَخَافَتُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا عَشْرًا **Transliteration:** Yatakhaafatoona bainahum il labistum illaa 'ashraa **Translation:** They will murmur among themselves, "You remained not but ten [days in the world]." #### Verse 104 نَّحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ إِذْ يَقُولُ أَمْثَلُهُمْ طَرِيقَةً إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا يَوْمًا **Transliteration:** nahnu a'lamu bimaa yaqooloona iz yaqoolu amsaluhum tareeqatan illabistum illaa yawmaa **Translation:** We are most knowing of what they say when the best of them in manner will say, "You remained not but one day." #### Verse 105 وَيَسْأَلُونَكَ عَنِ الْجِبَالِ فَقُلْ يَنسِفُهَا رَبِّي نَسْفًا **Transliteration:** Wa yas'aloonaka 'anil jibaali faqul yansifuhaa Rabbee nasfaa **Translation:** And they ask you about the mountains, so say, "My Lord will blow them away with a blast. #### Verse 106 فَيَذَرُهَا قَاعًا صَفْصَفًا **Transliteration:** Fa yazaruhaa qaa'an safsafaa **Translation:** And He will leave the earth a level plain; #### Verse 107 لَّا تَرَىٰ فِيهَا عِوَجًا وَلَا أَمْتًا **Transliteration:** Laa taraa feehaa 'iwajanw wa laaa amtaa **Translation:** You will not see therein a depression or an elevation." #### Verse 108 يَوْمَئِذٍ يَتَّبِعُونَ الدَّاعِيَ لَا عِوَجَ لَهُ ۖ وَخَشَعَتِ الْأَصْوَاتُ لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ فَلَا تَسْمَعُ إِلَّا هَمْسًا **Transliteration:** Yawma iziny yattabi'oonad daa'iya laa 'iwaja lahoo wa khasha'atil aswaatu lir Rahmaani falaa tasma'u illaa hamsaa **Translation:** That Day, everyone will follow [the call of] the Caller [with] no deviation therefrom, and [all] voices will be stilled before the Most Merciful, so you will not hear except a whisper [of footsteps]. #### Verse 109 يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا تَنفَعُ الشَّفَاعَةُ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرَّحْمَٰنُ وَرَضِيَ لَهُ قَوْلًا **Transliteration:** Yawma 'izil laa tanfa'ush shafaa'atu illaa man azina lahur Rahmaanu wa radiya lahoo qawlaa **Translation:** That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word. #### Verse 110 يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِ عِلْمًا **Transliteration:** Ya'lamu maa bainaa aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yauheetoona bihee 'ilmaa **Translation:** Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, but they do not encompass it in knowledge. #### Verse 111 ۞ وَعَنَتِ الْوُجُوهُ لِلْحَيِّ الْقَيُّومِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَابَ مَنْ حَمَلَ ظُلْمًا **Transliteration:** Wa 'anatil wujoohu lil Haiiyil Qaiyoomi wa qad khaaba man hamala zulmaa **Translation:** And [all] faces will be humbled before the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. And he will have failed who carries injustice. #### Verse 112 وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِنَ الصَّالِحَاتِ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَا يَخَافُ ظُلْمًا وَلَا هَضْمًا **Transliteration:** Wa mai ya'mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu'minun falaa yakhaafu zulmanw wa laa hadmaa **Translation:** But he who does of righteous deeds while he is a believer - he will neither fear injustice nor deprivation. #### Verse 113 وَكَذَٰلِكَ أَنزَلْنَاهُ قُرْآنًا عَرَبِيًّا وَصَرَّفْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الْوَعِيدِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَّقُونَ أَوْ يُحْدِثُ لَهُمْ ذِكْرًا **Transliteration:** Wa kazaalika anzalnaahu Qur-aanan 'Arabiyyanw wa sarrafnaa fee hi minal wa'eedi la'allahum yattaqoona aw yuhdisu lahum zikraa **Translation:** And thus We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur'an and have diversified therein the warnings that perhaps they will avoid [sin] or it would cause them remembrance. #### Verse 114 فَتَعَالَى اللَّهُ الْمَلِكُ الْحَقُّ ۗ وَلَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يُقْضَىٰ إِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهُ ۖ وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا **Transliteration:** Fata'aalal laahul Malikul Haqq; wa laa ta'jal bil Quraani min qabli ai yuqdaaa ilaika wahyuhoo wa qur Rabbi zidnee 'ilmaa **Translation:** So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge." #### Verse 115 وَلَقَدْ عَهِدْنَا إِلَىٰ آدَمَ مِن قَبْلُ فَنَسِيَ وَلَمْ نَجِدْ لَهُ عَزْمًا **Transliteration:** Wa laqad 'ahidnaaa ilaaa Aadama min qablu fanasiya wa lam najid lahoo 'azmaa **Translation:** And We had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot; and We found not in him determination. #### Verse 116 وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ أَبَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa iz qulnaa lilma laaa'ikatis judoo li Aadama fasajadooo illaaa Iblees; abaa **Translation:** And [mention] when We said to the angels, "Prostrate to Adam," and they prostrated, except Iblees; he refused. #### Verse 117 فَقُلْنَا يَا آدَمُ إِنَّ هَٰذَا عَدُوٌّ لَّكَ وَلِزَوْجِكَ فَلَا يُخْرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ فَتَشْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Faqulnaa yaaa Aadamu inna haazaa 'aduwwul laka wa lizawjika falaa yukhrijan nakumaa minal Jannati fatashqaa **Translation:** So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer. #### Verse 118 إِنَّ لَكَ أَلَّا تَجُوعَ فِيهَا وَلَا تَعْرَىٰ **Transliteration:** Innaa laka allaa tajoo'a feeha wa laa ta'raa **Translation:** Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed. #### Verse 119 وَأَنَّكَ لَا تَظْمَأُ فِيهَا وَلَا تَضْحَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa annaka laa tazma'u feehaa wa laa tadhaa **Translation:** And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun." #### Verse 120 فَوَسْوَسَ إِلَيْهِ الشَّيْطَانُ قَالَ يَا آدَمُ هَلْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ الْخُلْدِ وَمُلْكٍ لَّا يَبْلَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa waswasa ilaihish Shaitaanu qaala yaaa Aadamu hal adulluka 'alaa shajaratil khuldi wa mulkil laa yablaa **Translation:** Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?" #### Verse 121 فَأَكَلَا مِنْهَا فَبَدَتْ لَهُمَا سَوْآتُهُمَا وَطَفِقَا يَخْصِفَانِ عَلَيْهِمَا مِن وَرَقِ الْجَنَّةِ ۚ وَعَصَىٰ آدَمُ رَبَّهُ فَغَوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fa akalaa minhaa fabadat lahumaa saw aatuhumaa wa tafiqaa yakhsifaani 'alaihimaa minw waraqil jannah; wa 'asaaa Aadamu Rabbahoo faghawaa **Translation:** And Adam and his wife ate of it, and their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And Adam disobeyed his Lord and erred. #### Verse 122 ثُمَّ اجْتَبَاهُ رَبُّهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْهِ وَهَدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Summaj tabbahu Rabbuhoo fataaba 'alaihi wa hadaa **Translation:** Then his Lord chose him and turned to him in forgiveness and guided [him]. #### Verse 123 قَالَ اهْبِطَا مِنْهَا جَمِيعًا ۖ بَعْضُكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ عَدُوٌّ ۖ فَإِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُم مِّنِّي هُدًى فَمَنِ اتَّبَعَ هُدَايَ فَلَا يَضِلُّ وَلَا يَشْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaalah bita minhaa jamee'am ba'dukum liba'din 'aduww; fa immaa yaati yannakum minnee hudan famanit taba'a hudaaya falaa yadillu wa laa yashhqaa **Translation:** [Allah] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter]. #### Verse 124 وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَن ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكًا وَنَحْشُرُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أَعْمَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa man a'rada 'an Zikree fa inna lahoo ma'eeshatan dankanw wa nahshuruhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati a'maa **Translation:** And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind." #### Verse 125 قَالَ رَبِّ لِمَ حَشَرْتَنِي أَعْمَىٰ وَقَدْ كُنتُ بَصِيرًا **Transliteration:** Qaala Rabbi lima hashar tanee a'maa wa qad kuntu baseeraa **Translation:** He will say, "My Lord, why have you raised me blind while I was [once] seeing?" #### Verse 126 قَالَ كَذَٰلِكَ أَتَتْكَ آيَاتُنَا فَنَسِيتَهَا ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ الْيَوْمَ تُنسَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qaala kazaalika atatka Aayaatunaa fanaseetahaa wa kazaalikal Yawma tunsaa **Translation:** [Allah] will say, "Thus did Our signs come to you, and you forgot them; and thus will you this Day be forgotten." #### Verse 127 وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي مَنْ أَسْرَفَ وَلَمْ يُؤْمِن بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ۚ وَلَعَذَابُ الْآخِرَةِ أَشَدُّ وَأَبْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa kazaalika najzee man asrafa wa lam yu'mim bi Aayaati Rabbih; wa la'azaabul Aakhirati ashaddu wa abqaa **Translation:** And thus do We recompense he who transgressed and did not believe in the signs of his Lord. And the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe and more enduring. #### Verse 128 أَفَلَمْ يَهْدِ لَهُمْ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ الْقُرُونِ يَمْشُونَ فِي مَسَاكِنِهِمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّأُولِي النُّهَىٰ **Transliteration:** Afalam yahdi lahum kam ahlaknaa qablahum minal qurooni yamshoona fee masaakinihim; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil li ulinnuhaa **Translation:** Then, has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs for those of intelligence. #### Verse 129 وَلَوْلَا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَكَانَ لِزَامًا وَأَجَلٌ مُّسَمًّى **Transliteration:** Wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika lakaana lizaamanw wa ajalum musammaa **Translation:** And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, punishment would have been an obligation [due immediately], and [if not for] a specified term [decreed]. #### Verse 130 فَاصْبِرْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ وَمِنْ آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْ وَأَطْرَافَ النَّهَارِ لَعَلَّكَ تَرْضَىٰ **Transliteration:** Fasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wa sabbih bihamdi Rabbika qabla tuloo'ish shamsi wa qabla ghuroobihaa wa min aanaaa'il laili fasbbih wa atraafan nahaari la 'allaka tardaa **Translation:** So be patient over what they say and exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied. #### Verse 131 وَلَا تَمُدَّنَّ عَيْنَيْكَ إِلَىٰ مَا مَتَّعْنَا بِهِ أَزْوَاجًا مِّنْهُمْ زَهْرَةَ الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَرِزْقُ رَبِّكَ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa laa tamuddanna 'ainaika ilaa ma matta'na biheee azwajam minhum zahratal hayaatid dunya linaftinahum feeh; wa rizqu Rabbika khairunw wa abqaa **Translation:** And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring. #### Verse 132 وَأْمُرْ أَهْلَكَ بِالصَّلَاةِ وَاصْطَبِرْ عَلَيْهَا ۖ لَا نَسْأَلُكَ رِزْقًا ۖ نَّحْنُ نَرْزُقُكَ ۗ وَالْعَاقِبَةُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ **Transliteration:** Waamur ahlaka bis Salaati wastabir 'alaihaa la nas'aluka rizqaa; nahnu narzuquk; wal 'aaqibatu littaqwaa **Translation:** And enjoin prayer upon your family [and people] and be steadfast therein. We ask you not for provision; We provide for you, and the [best] outcome is for [those of] righteousness. #### Verse 133 وَقَالُوا لَوْلَا يَأْتِينَا بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّهِ ۚ أَوَلَمْ تَأْتِهِم بَيِّنَةُ مَا فِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa qaaloo law laa yaateenaa bi Aayatim mmir Rabbih; awalam taatihim baiyinatu maa fis suhufil oolaa **Translation:** And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures? #### Verse 134 وَلَوْ أَنَّا أَهْلَكْنَاهُم بِعَذَابٍ مِّن قَبْلِهِ لَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا لَوْلَا أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيْنَا رَسُولًا فَنَتَّبِعَ آيَاتِكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن نَّذِلَّ وَنَخْزَىٰ **Transliteration:** Wa law annaaa ahlaknaahum bi'azaabim min qablihee laqaaloo Rabbanaa law laaa arsalta ilainaa Rasoolan fanattabi's Aayaatika min qabli an nazilla wa nakhzaa **Translation:** And if We had destroyed them with a punishment before him, they would have said, "Our Lord, why did You not send to us a messenger so we could have followed Your verses before we were humiliated and disgraced?" #### Verse 135 قُلْ كُلٌّ مُّتَرَبِّصٌ فَتَرَبَّصُوا ۖ فَسَتَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَصْحَابُ الصِّرَاطِ السَّوِيِّ وَمَنِ اهْتَدَىٰ **Transliteration:** Qul kullum mutarabbisun fatarabbasoo fasta'lamoona man Ashaabus Siraatis Sawiyyi wa manih tadaa **Translation:** Say, "Each [of us] is waiting; so wait. For you will know who are the companions of the sound path and who is guided."
