## Ar-Rahmaan

**Translation:** The Beneficent

### Pre-Bismillah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

*In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.*

### Verses

#### Verse 1

الرَّحْمَٰنُ

**Transliteration:** Ar Rahmaan

**Translation:** The Most Merciful

#### Verse 2

عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ

**Transliteration:** 'Allamal Quran

**Translation:** Taught the Qur'an,

#### Verse 3

خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ

**Transliteration:** Khalaqal insaan

**Translation:** Created man,

#### Verse 4

عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ

**Transliteration:** 'Allamalhul bayaan

**Translation:** [And] taught him eloquence.

#### Verse 5

الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Ashshamsu walqamaru bihusbaan

**Translation:** The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,

#### Verse 6

وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ

**Transliteration:** Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudan

**Translation:** And the stars and trees prostrate.

#### Verse 7

وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ

**Transliteration:** Wassamaaa'a rafa'ahaa wa wada'al Meezan

**Translation:** And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance

#### Verse 8

أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ

**Transliteration:** Allaa tatghaw fil meezaan

**Translation:** That you not transgress within the balance.

#### Verse 9

وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ

**Transliteration:** Wa aqeemul wazna bilqisti wa laa tukhsirul meezaan

**Translation:** And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.

#### Verse 10

وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ

**Transliteration:** Wal arda wada'ahaa lilanaame

**Translation:** And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.

#### Verse 11

فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ

**Transliteration:** Feehaa faakihatunw wan nakhlu zaatul akmaam

**Translation:** Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]

#### Verse 12

وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ

**Transliteration:** Walhabbu zul 'asfi war Raihaanu

**Translation:** And grain having husks and scented plants.

#### Verse 13

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 14

خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ

**Transliteration:** Khalaqal insaana min salsaalin kalfakhkhaari

**Translation:** He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.

#### Verse 15

وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ

**Transliteration:** Wa khalaqal jaaan mim maarijim min naar

**Translation:** And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.

#### Verse 16

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 17

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ

**Transliteration:** Rabbul mashriqayni wa Rabbul maghribayni

**Translation:** [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.

#### Verse 18

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 19

مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ

**Transliteration:** Marajal bahrayni yalta qiyaani

**Translation:** He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];

#### Verse 20

بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ

**Transliteration:** Bainahumaa barzakhul laa yabghiyaan

**Translation:** Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.

#### Verse 21

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 22

يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ

**Transliteration:** Yakhruju minhumal lu 'lu u wal marjaanu

**Translation:** From both of them emerge pearl and coral.

#### Verse 23

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 24

وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ

**Transliteration:** Wa lahul jawaaril mun sha'aatu fil bahri kal a'laam

**Translation:** And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.

#### Verse 25

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 26

كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Kullu man 'alaihaa faan

**Translation:** Everyone upon the earth will perish,

#### Verse 27

وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

**Transliteration:** Wa yabqaa wajhu rabbika zul jalaali wal ikraam

**Translation:** And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.

#### Verse 28

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 29

يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ

**Transliteration:** Yas'aluhoo man fissamaawaati walard; kulla ywmin huwa fee shaan

**Translation:** Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.

#### Verse 30

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 31

سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ

**Transliteration:** Sanafrughu lakum ayyuhas saqalaan

**Translation:** We will attend to you, O prominent beings.

#### Verse 32

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 33

يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Yaa ma'sharal jinni wal insi inis tata'tum an tanfuzoo min aqtaaris samaawaati wal ardi fanfuzoo; laa tanfuzoona illaa bisultaan

**Translation:** O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].

#### Verse 34

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 35

يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ

**Transliteration:** Yursalu 'alaikumaa shuwaazum min naarifiw-wa nuhaasun falaa tantasiraan

**Translation:** There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.

#### Verse 36

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 37

فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fa-izan shaqqatis samaaa'u fakaanat wardatan kaddihaan

**Translation:** And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil -

#### Verse 38

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 39

فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ

**Transliteration:** Fa-yawma'izil laa yus'alu 'an zambiheee insunw wa laa jaann

**Translation:** Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.

#### Verse 40

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 41

يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ

**Transliteration:** Yu'raful mujrimoona biseemaahum fa'yu'khazu binna waasi wal aqdaam

**Translation:** The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.

#### Verse 42

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 43

هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ

**Transliteration:** Haazihee jahannamul latee yukazzibu bihal mujrimoon

**Translation:** This is Hell, which the criminals deny.

#### Verse 44

يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ

**Transliteration:** Yatoofoona bainahaa wa baina hameemim aan

**Translation:** They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].

#### Verse 45

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 46

وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ

**Transliteration:** Wa liman khaafa maqaama rabbihee jannataan

**Translation:** But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens -

#### Verse 47

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 48

ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Zawaataaa afnaan

**Translation:** Having [spreading] branches.

#### Verse 49

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 50

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ

**Transliteration:** Feehimaa 'aynaani tajriyaan

**Translation:** In both of them are two springs, flowing.

#### Verse 51

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 52

فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ

**Transliteration:** Feehimaa min kulli faakihatin zawjaan

**Translation:** In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.

#### Verse 53

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 54

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Muttaki'eena 'alaa furushim bataaa'inuhaa min istabraq; wajanal jannataini daan

**Translation:** [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.

#### Verse 55

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 56

فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

**Transliteration:** Feehinna qaasiratut tarfi lam yatmishunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann

**Translation:** In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni -

#### Verse 57

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 58

كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ

**Transliteration:** ka annahunnal yaaqootu wal marjaan

**Translation:** As if they were rubies and coral.

#### Verse 59

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 60

هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ

**Transliteration:** Hal jazaaa'ul ihsaani illal ihsaan

**Translation:** Is the reward for good [anything] but good?

#### Verse 61

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 62

وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ

**Transliteration:** Wa min doonihimaa jannataan

**Translation:** And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens -

#### Verse 63

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 64

مُدْهَامَّتَانِ

**Transliteration:** Mudhaaammataan

**Translation:** Dark green [in color].

#### Verse 65

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 66

فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

**Transliteration:** Feehimaa 'aynaani nad daakhataan

**Translation:** In both of them are two springs, spouting.

#### Verse 67

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 68

فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ

**Transliteration:** Feehimaa faakihatunw wa nakhlunw wa rummaan

**Translation:** In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.

#### Verse 69

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 70

فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ

**Transliteration:** Feehinna khairaatun hisaan

**Translation:** In them are good and beautiful women -

#### Verse 71

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 72

حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ

**Transliteration:** Hoorum maqsooraatun fil khiyaam

**Translation:** Fair ones reserved in pavilions -

#### Verse 73

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 74

لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ

**Transliteration:** Lam yatmis hunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann

**Translation:** Untouched before them by man or jinni -

#### Verse 75

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? -

#### Verse 76

مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ

**Transliteration:** Muttaki'eena 'alaa rafratin khudrinw wa 'abqariyyin hisaan

**Translation:** Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.

#### Verse 77

فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi aalaaa'i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

**Translation:** So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?

#### Verse 78

تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ

**Transliteration:** Tabaarakasmu Rabbika Zil-Jalaali wal-Ikraam

**Translation:** Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
