## Al-Mursalaat

**Translation:** The Emissaries
**Revelation:** Meccan
**Number of Verses:** 50

### Pre-Bismillah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

*In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.*

### Verses

#### Verse 1

وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا

**Transliteration:** Wal mursalaati'urfaa

**Translation:** By those [winds] sent forth in gusts

#### Verse 2

فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا

**Transliteration:** Fal'aasifaati 'asfaa

**Translation:** And the winds that blow violently

#### Verse 3

وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا

**Transliteration:** Wannaashiraati nashraa

**Translation:** And [by] the winds that spread [clouds]

#### Verse 4

فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا

**Transliteration:** Falfaariqaati farqaa

**Translation:** And those [angels] who bring criterion

#### Verse 5

فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا

**Transliteration:** Falmulqiyaati zikra

**Translation:** And those [angels] who deliver a message

#### Verse 6

عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا

**Transliteration:** 'Uzran aw nuzraa

**Translation:** As justification or warning,

#### Verse 7

إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ

**Transliteration:** Innamaa too'adoona lawaaqi'

**Translation:** Indeed, what you are promised is to occur.

#### Verse 8

فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ

**Transliteration:** Fa izam nujoomu tumisat

**Translation:** So when the stars are obliterated

#### Verse 9

وَإِذَا السَّمَاءُ فُرِجَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izas samaaa'u furijat

**Translation:** And when the heaven is opened

#### Verse 10

وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izal jibaalu nusifat

**Translation:** And when the mountains are blown away

#### Verse 11

وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izar Rusulu uqqitat

**Translation:** And when the messengers' time has come...

#### Verse 12

لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ

**Transliteration:** Li ayyi yawmin ujjilat

**Translation:** For what Day was it postponed?

#### Verse 13

لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ

**Transliteration:** Li yawmil Fasl

**Translation:** For the Day of Judgement.

#### Verse 14

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ

**Transliteration:** Wa maaa adraaka maa yawmul fasl

**Translation:** And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement?

#### Verse 15

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma 'izillilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 16

أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ

**Transliteration:** Alam nuhlikil awwaleen

**Translation:** Did We not destroy the former peoples?

#### Verse 17

ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ

**Transliteration:** Summa nutbi'uhumul aakhireen

**Translation:** Then We will follow them with the later ones.

#### Verse 18

كَذَٰلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ

**Transliteration:** Kazzlika naf'alu bilmujrimeen

**Translation:** Thus do We deal with the criminals.

#### Verse 19

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailunw yawma 'izil lil mukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 20

أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاءٍ مَّهِينٍ

**Transliteration:** Alam nakhlukkum mimmaaa'im maheen

**Translation:** Did We not create you from a liquid disdained?

#### Verse 21

فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ

**Transliteration:** Faja'alnaahu fee qaraarim makeen

**Translation:** And We placed it in a firm lodging

#### Verse 22

إِلَىٰ قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ

**Transliteration:** Illaa qadrim ma'loom

**Translation:** For a known extent.

#### Verse 23

فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ

**Transliteration:** Faqadarnaa fani'mal qaadiroon

**Translation:** And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine.

#### Verse 24

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma 'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 25

أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا

**Transliteration:** Alam naj'alil arda kifaataa

**Translation:** Have We not made the earth a container

#### Verse 26

أَحْيَاءً وَأَمْوَاتًا

**Transliteration:** Ahyaaa'anw wa amwaataa

**Translation:** Of the living and the dead?

#### Verse 27

وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّاءً فُرَاتًا

**Transliteration:** Wa ja'alnaa feehaa rawaasiya shaamikhaatinw wa asqainaakum maaa'an furaataa

**Translation:** And We placed therein lofty, firmly set mountains and have given you to drink sweet water.

#### Verse 28

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma 'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 29

انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ مَا كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ

**Transliteration:** Intaliqooo ilaa maa kuntum bihee tukazziboon

**Translation:** [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny.

#### Verse 30

انطَلِقُوا إِلَىٰ ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ

**Transliteration:** Intaliqooo ilaa zillin zee salaasi shu'ab

**Translation:** Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns

#### Verse 31

لَّا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ

**Transliteration:** Laa zaleelinw wa laa yughnee minal lahab

**Translation:** [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame."

#### Verse 32

إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ

**Transliteration:** Innahaa tarmee bishararin kalqasr

**Translation:** Indeed, it throws sparks [as huge] as a fortress,

#### Verse 33

كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ

**Transliteration:** Ka annahoo jimaalatun sufr

**Translation:** As if they were yellowish [black] camels.

#### Verse 34

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma 'izil lilmukazibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 35

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ

**Transliteration:** Haazaa yawmu laa uantiqoon

**Translation:** This is a Day they will not speak,

#### Verse 36

وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ

**Transliteration:** Wa laa yu'zanu lahum fa ya'taziroon

**Translation:** Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse.

#### Verse 37

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailunw yawma 'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 38

هَٰذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ۖ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ

**Transliteration:** Haaza yawmul fasli jama 'naakum wal awwaleen

**Translation:** This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples.

#### Verse 39

فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ

**Transliteration:** Fa in kaana lakum kaidun fakeedoon

**Translation:** So if you have a plan, then plan against Me.

#### Verse 40

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 41

إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ

**Transliteration:** Innal muttaqeena fee zilaalinw wa 'uyoon

**Translation:** Indeed, the righteous will be among shades and springs

#### Verse 42

وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

**Transliteration:** Wa fawaakiha mimmaa yastahoon

**Translation:** And fruits from whatever they desire,

#### Verse 43

كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

**Transliteration:** Kuloo washraboo haneee 'am bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

**Translation:** [Being told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."

#### Verse 44

إِنَّا كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنِينَ

**Transliteration:** Innaa kazaalika najzil muhsineen

**Translation:** Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good.

#### Verse 45

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailuny yawma 'izil lilmuzkazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 46

كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ

**Transliteration:** Kuloo wa tamatta'oo qaleelan innakum mujrimoon

**Translation:** [O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.

#### Verse 47

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailunny yawma 'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 48

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ

**Transliteration:** Wa izaa qeela lahumur ka'oo aa yarka'oon

**Translation:** And when it is said to them, "Bow [in prayer]," they do not bow.

#### Verse 49

وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wailunny yawma 'izil lilmukazzibeen

**Translation:** Woe, that Day, to the deniers.

#### Verse 50

فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ

**Transliteration:** Fabi ayyi hadeesim ba'dahoo yu'minoon

**Translation:** Then in what statement after the Qur'an will they believe?
