## Al-Infitaar

**Translation:** The Cleaving
**Revelation:** Meccan
**Number of Verses:** 19

### Pre-Bismillah

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

*In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.*

### Verses

#### Verse 1

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انفَطَرَتْ

**Transliteration:** Izas samaaa'un fatarat

**Translation:** When the sky breaks apart

#### Verse 2

وَإِذَا الْكَوَاكِبُ انتَثَرَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izal kawaakibun tasarat

**Translation:** And when the stars fall, scattering,

#### Verse 3

وَإِذَا الْبِحَارُ فُجِّرَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izal bihaaru fujjirat

**Translation:** And when the seas are erupted

#### Verse 4

وَإِذَا الْقُبُورُ بُعْثِرَتْ

**Transliteration:** Wa izal qubooru bu'sirat

**Translation:** And when the [contents of] graves are scattered,

#### Verse 5

عَلِمَتْ نَفْسٌ مَّا قَدَّمَتْ وَأَخَّرَتْ

**Transliteration:** 'Alimat nafsum maa qaddamat wa akhkharat

**Translation:** A soul will [then] know what it has put forth and kept back.

#### Verse 6

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ مَا غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الْكَرِيمِ

**Transliteration:** Yaaa ayyuhal insaaanu maa gharraka bi Rabbikal kareem

**Translation:** O mankind, what has deceived you concerning your Lord, the Generous,

#### Verse 7

الَّذِي خَلَقَكَ فَسَوَّاكَ فَعَدَلَكَ

**Transliteration:** Allazee khalaqaka fasaw waaka fa'adalak

**Translation:** Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

#### Verse 8

فِي أَيِّ صُورَةٍ مَّا شَاءَ رَكَّبَكَ

**Transliteration:** Feee ayye sooratim maa shaaa'a rakkabak

**Translation:** In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.

#### Verse 9

كَلَّا بَلْ تُكَذِّبُونَ بِالدِّينِ

**Transliteration:** Kalla bal tukazziboona bid deen

**Translation:** No! But you deny the Recompense.

#### Verse 10

وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wa inna 'alaikum lahaa fizeen

**Translation:** And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,

#### Verse 11

كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Kiraaman kaatibeen

**Translation:** Noble and recording;

#### Verse 12

يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ

**Transliteration:** Ya'lamoona ma taf'aloon

**Translation:** They know whatever you do.

#### Verse 13

إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ

**Transliteration:** Innal abraara lafee na'eem

**Translation:** Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure,

#### Verse 14

وَإِنَّ الْفُجَّارَ لَفِي جَحِيمٍ

**Transliteration:** Wa innal fujjaara lafee jaheem

**Translation:** And indeed, the wicked will be in Hellfire.

#### Verse 15

يَصْلَوْنَهَا يَوْمَ الدِّينِ

**Transliteration:** Yaslawnahaa Yawmad Deen

**Translation:** They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense,

#### Verse 16

وَمَا هُمْ عَنْهَا بِغَائِبِينَ

**Transliteration:** Wa maa hum 'anhaa bighaaa 'ibeen

**Translation:** And never therefrom will they be absent.

#### Verse 17

وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ

**Transliteration:** Wa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

**Translation:** And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

#### Verse 18

ثُمَّ مَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الدِّينِ

**Transliteration:** Summa maaa adraaka maa Yawmud Deen

**Translation:** Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?

#### Verse 19

يَوْمَ لَا تَمْلِكُ نَفْسٌ لِّنَفْسٍ شَيْئًا ۖ وَالْأَمْرُ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلَّهِ

**Transliteration:** Yawma laa tamliku nafsul linafsin shai'anw walamru yawma'izil lillaah

**Translation:** It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
