Az-Zalzala

إِذَا زُلْزِلَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ زِلْزَالَهَا

When the earth is shaken with a mighty quake,

وَأَخْرَجَتِ ٱلْأَرْضُ أَثْقَالَهَا

and the earth throws out its burdens¹,

وَقَالَ ٱلْإِنسَٰنُ مَا لَهَا

and man says², “What is the matter with it?”

يَوْمَئِذٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَخْبَارَهَا

On that Day it will recount all its news,

بِأَنَّ رَبَّكَ أَوْحَىٰ لَهَا

because your Lord has inspired it [to do so].

يَوْمَئِذٍ يَصْدُرُ ٱلنَّاسُ أَشْتَاتًا لِّيُرَوْا۟ أَعْمَٰلَهُمْ

On that Day all people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds³.

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُۥ

So whoever does an atom’s weight⁴ of good will see it,
