Al-Qadr

إِنَّآ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ فِى لَيْلَةِ ٱلْقَدْرِ

Indeed, We sent this [Qur’an] down on the Night of Decree¹.

وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ

How do you know what the Night of Decree is?

لَيْلَةُ ٱلْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ

The Night of Decree is better than a thousand months.

تَنَزَّلُ ٱلْمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ وَٱلرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ

On that night the angels and the Spirit [i.e., Gabriel] descend by their Lord’s permission with all decrees².
